Alright so I was in the education today! The very first thing we did was go to circle time with the Upper Kindergarten class (UKG) here we spent time singing the alphabet "the A says aaa, the A says aaa, something I couldn't understand, the A says aaaa". And we sung this for every letter of the alphabet! Then afterwards we did the " knees and toes, head, shoulders, knees and toes" song. Next we played duck duck goose, the hokie pokie, and the monkeys jumping on the bed. Then went into the school to teach the kids (UKG) who are struggling with a letter. My gal learned the letter "D"! We had a file full of ideas on how to teach them such as tracing the letter with their fingers, finding the letter within in words that do not start with "D", reading a poem with a lot of words with "D" in them. She was very smart and obident! However a good portion of the kids got distracted and did not want to stay sitting ( I got lucky!)Then after that we went to the computer lab to help the UKG kids with fun games on the computer to further their skills. Next we went down to the library and chose some books to read to the First Standard. Then we had a lunch break so we came back and ate, instead of going to the dinning hall because we were hot and worn to the last drop of patience with the kids, haha! Amber and I felt like we could use a break from the Indian food since we eat it everyday for Lunch and Dinner! So here is my lunch! Peanut Butter, Jam, Sourpatch Kids, Pretzels, Dried Fruit, and Beef Jerky!

It tasted pretty good I have to say!
We went back to the kids school and played with the UKG kids yet again for PE that was pretty cute. We tossed a ball in the air and used one of the sheets kids usually run under that is colorful like the rainbow. Next we went to the Computer Lab to help the Second Standard in the same program as the UKG
Now I get a nice break until Play Time and Dinner!
This is the school! They are dressed for game day! They usually wear dress and ties.
Tonight I got the experience of walking into the village and seeing the people. I even saw Shuntshiri a little girl that I helped with reading today. When we reached the main part of the road all the kids came out to play and run around while we walked, they talked to us and laughed. We went just after this little bit of rain and you could feel the heat radiating of the street as we walked down and the humidity felt as though it were 90%! When we got back we had about a half an hour of play time left so I put on my tennis shoes and walked over! A little girl came up to me and asked me my name and was really sweet so I took a picture with her and she then asked me to go sit down with her. That's when all these kids surrounded me calling out "auntie auntie" probably 7-8 kids. They were wanting to see my family so I showed them and ended up with them scrolling through all my pictures!
Mackenzie, thank you for sharing your experiences and pictures! Christian, Emily and I have been reading it every day! We love and miss you.
ReplyDeleteWe are so proud of you ...
P.S. They both tried to comment but it didn't show up ... we will try and figure out why it's not working. xxoo
ReplyDeleteHola Auntie Cait! That must have been quite an experience teaching the kids. I must say I like the clothes you are wearing. They appear comfortable and protective from the sun/heat. You are going to have so many stories to tell us, I can't wait to hear more. We love and and look forward to reading your blog each day. :-)
